Exploring Starfield's Photo mode: A Review

Exploring Starfield's Photo mode: A Review

Starfield, the highly anticipated space RPG from Bethesda, has captivated players with its expansive universe and intricate storytelling. Among the many features that enhance the gaming experience, the photo mode stands out as a remarkable tool for players to capture the beauty of the game. This feature allows you to pause the game and manipulate the camera to create stunning visuals, showcasing not only the vastness of space but also the intricate details of planets and spacecraft.

Starfield's photo mode has versatile camera controls, impressive lighting mechanics, character integration, and community-sharing capabilities. This game empowers you to express your creativity and fully explore the Starfield universe.

Why We Love Starfield's Photo mode

  • Personalised Loading Screens

One of the most innovative features of Starfield’s photo mode is the ability to use the images you’ve captured as your loading screens. This unique integration transforms the mundane wait time into a personalised experience, allowing you to showcase your favourite moments as a VP artist. Each loading screen becomes a canvas that reflects your journey, adding a layer of immersion that keeps the excitement alive even during transitions. This feature fosters a deeper connection to the game world, making every loading screen a reminder of your incredible adventures so far.

  • Game-Changing Filters

We love the filters in the photo mode. Rumour has it that the black-and-white filter of the game is one of the best!

With a range of filters available, you can enhance your photos how you'd prefer. Whether you want to evoke a whimsical atmosphere or highlight dramatic contrasts, filters provide the flexibility to transform your images into stunning works of art.

  • Dynamic Expressions and Poses

The addition of customizable expressions and poses for players and companions in one of the recent game patches adds an exciting new dimension to Starfield’s photo mode. This feature empowers you to create dynamic scenes that capture the essence of your characters and relationships. By staging moments that showcase camaraderie, heroism, or introspection, you can infuse rich storytelling into your photos.

What We Hope Changes in Starfield Photo Mode

While Starfield's photo mode offers exciting features, one limitation is the cap on stored photos, currently set at 50. This restriction can be a challenge for enthusiastic VP artists who want to capture and preserve more moments from their adventures. Expanding the gallery capacity would greatly enhance creative freedom, allowing players to curate a more extensive collection without the worry of reaching a limit.

For PC players, there is a workaround! You can copy the photo folder to another to free up space. It is functional but cumbersome, potentially discouraging regular use of the photo mode. A more integrated solution, such as cloud storage or an in-game archive system, would streamline the process, making it easier for players to manage their captures.
